creativity in schools | video essay

Divising, recording, and editing a short video essay with Motion Design, Video-Editing, and Sound Design techniques.

This short video essay was created for an essay presentation in my Junior year of high school’s ELA class. The assignment was to create an essay that you would turn into an ~8-minute presentation for the class. I pleaded with my teacher to let me make this instead, as giving an eight-minute presentation didn’t sound too fun, and creating the video would greatly aid my argument for creativity in schools anyway.

I really wanted to try some more traditional motion design you would find in video essays like these, but I also needed an engaging script with real content to convey visually. I am happy with how it turned out, though I started to run out of time towards the end, so the quality dipped a bit!
