Creating a motion graphics mini-documentary that blends physical assets and digital animation to craft a handmade, narrative-focused visual style.
This project was made with Dogtown Studio, in collaboration with the owner, Robby Fischer. We collaborated from early visual development to the final product, and Robby is responsible for the incredible music throughout the mini-doc. All of the motion was created by me, with critique and feedback from Robby and my peers along the way.
This project was an incredible opportunity to create a longer-form motion graphics piece that tells a real story, with the chance to explore a more deliberate “handmade” style. Robby and I found, and decided on a visual style we both liked through some R&D tests before we began production on this project. You can find the results of those tests below.
I couldn’t be more grateful to Robby and Dogtown Studio for facilitating the creation of this awesome project, and for giving me the opportunity to make some awesome work with him!
