Pianissimo EPilogue | Silent hill
Blending rigging, animation, particle systems, and visual effects to create a cohesive 2.5D animation.
I found the mixing of in-game footage with motion graphics rather hard to nail. On one hand, there’s the cinematic in-game footage which works decently well, though is lacking in adaptability due to the way it’s colored, and then the actual gameplay footage which is almost impossible to mix in. Overall, I did enjoy making the motion graphics scenes (9 Squares, Door, and Piano Hero) but the attempted integration fell flat in my opinion. If nothing else, there’s some shots in here certainly worth showing in my demo reel, and it’s instilled some new confidence in me for my design & motion skills.
